Syllabus For Audiologist Exam :
Paper I : MCQ and Conventional type
General English : The question will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and command of the English Language and workman like use of words.

The pattern of questions would be broadly as follows:
1. Comprehension of given passage
2. Precise writing
3. Usages and Vocabulary
4. Short Essay
5. Translation
General Knowledge :
Knowledge of current events of local, national and international importance and such other matter which a person is expected to be aware of. Knowledge of current events of National and International Importance and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject.
The paper will also include questions on Modern History (from 1857 on wards) of India, Indian Culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy and Geography of India of such mature as candidates should be able to answer without special study and question on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
Paper II : MCQ and Conventional type
The questions will cover areas of knowledge of the following subject and topics:
1. Language and Hearing Sciences
2. Human Anatomy
3. Physiology
4. Psychology
5. Phonetics and Phonology Electives
6. Acoustics
7. ENT
8. Anatomy
9. Pathology
VIVA-VOCE :
The candidates will be interviewed by the Commission who will have before them a record of his career. He/she will be asked questions on matters of general interest. The object of the interview to access the personal suitability of the candidate for the service, or service for which he has applied to the Commission. The test is intended to judge the metal calibre of candidate.
In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only his intellectual qualities but also social traits and his interest in current affairs. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, care and logical exposition, balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion and leadership intellectual and moral integrity.
Eligibility :
1. Minimum educational qualification : BASLP (Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology) from recognized University/Institute as approved by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
2. Age : Age between 18 to 30 years
(i) relaxable to 35 years for BL (Bhutia-Lepcha), ST (Limboo-Tamang), Scheduled Caste & Primitive Tribe Candidates; 34 years for Other Backward Classes (Central List) and 33 years for Other Backward Classes (State List) candidates,
(ii) relaxable to 50 years in case of Muster Roll/Adhoc/Substitute/Contract/WorkCharged employees in terms of Notification No.M(3)P.III/74/GEN/DOP dated:23.11.2013
3. Other Qualifications :
(a) Preference will be given to Sikkim Government Stipendiary/Seat reserved for State of Sikkim.
(b) Should be conversant with the customs and usages of Sikkim.
(c) Should have knowledge of any of the Sate languages viz- Nepali, Sikkimese Bhutia, Lepcha or Limboo.
(d) Should have valid local Employment Card.
(e) Should have COI issued by the respective District Collectorate of Sikkim
